This seriously might be the way we select our backsplash. We didn’t even look at options for a backsplash for the first few months of the house renovations. It seemed so far away at the time and such a simple detail. Yeah, right! A backsplash can make such a big difference in the entire look of the kitchen.
We went a bit more traditional with our kitchen cabinets because I won most of the remodeling decisions so far and I felt the hubby should get at least one. Shhh! Don’t tell him that though. Thankfully, for my sake we did more modern handles and appliances so it helps even it out. Now the most important thing is getting the right backsplash to compliment the space and the rest of our home.
Do we go the white subway tile route which is simple, classic and can go anyway you decide to accessorize the kitchen?

Or what about something with a little more detail like a mosaic type tile in coordinating colors?

I’m also leaning towards the clear glass tiles I’m seeing more and more of lately.

If you have any favorites out there please share! I’m open to ideas. Right now I have to stare at stark white walls with pencils marks from where we were measuring the cabinets…that has to change soon 😉

I really like the subway tile or the beadboard back splash.
I am thinking of doing that clear sea glass tile in my bathroom

I love a simple white subway tile. I hope to put a subway tile backsplash in our kitchen with a glass mosaic accent strip. We found a beautiful white one at Home Depot. I’m not a huge fan of mosaic on a whole wall like that second one though… I always find they end up looking too busy.

I think you should look at either Carrara marble subway tiles or glass tiles like you suggested. I think it’d be really pretty to bring some contrasting gray (or color w/the glass) to the backsplash.
I’m trying to figure out to do in a very similar situation and these are some of the things I’m liking right now. Good luck!

That last picture of the glass tiles has always been one of my fav! They would be so pretty, especially being in Florida. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

I like it classic. Either carrara marble or plain, white subway tile. 🙂
