I should correct myself…they are my husband’s orchids. I kill them. I kill all plants. Plants don’t bark or meow to remind me to feed them. My furry kids are well taken care of, spoiled actually, but plants I’m put in charge of are horribly neglected.
We drilled randomly placed holes for hooks into the wood fence in the appropriate sunny/shady areas to help start the base of our new garden.
We attached a few screws in the back of each wooden planter to allow them to stand up better against the fence. We used this same set up in the old house against the wall so we kept them in for this new garden. It lets the roots grow well so it is better for the plants too.
What’s your favorite flower that you can grow where you live?

What a neat idea! They look fantastic on the fence. My favorite flowers in our area (VA) are hydrangeas. 🙂 I’m not much of a green thumb either. Visiting from the Haven FB page. Hope you’ll stop by my blog to say hi. 🙂

I like what you did with those plants. If you ask me, I like plants which are easy to grow and require less maintenance.

I also love Orchids.. I have a few dozen with some growing on my front tree, right on the bark! I’m in SoFla and mine love the heat.
I really like the way you have them on the fence.. looks wonderful!
How often do yours bloom? Mine, maybe once a year… following you from “Under $100. linky party”
