I'm so glad everyone enjoyed the gift exchange posts this week. This is one of the gifts I gave Cheryl. I found this awesome tutorial on making kitchen towel aprons at CraftWhatever. Seriously adorable and super easy. I pinned it and kept my eyes open for cute kitchen towels every time I was at Target. The thing is, I'm not great with the sewing machine. I'm not horrible but I'm definitely not an expert so I wanted to simplify the tutorial even more. Less steps = less chances I can mess it up. … [Read more...]
favorite things exchange – tiffany of living savvy
I never anticipated having back-to-back posts on gifts from my blogging friends, but it just happened that way so I apologize. I know it might not be exciting for you to see my presents but if anything, consider joining an exchange. Hopefully, you will end up as happy as I am! My good bloggy friend, Tiffany from Living Savvy asked me to join her in a gift exchange held by Brandi at Don't Disturb the Groove. The rules were simple - the gift(s) had to be under $20 total and represent your favorite … [Read more...]
package pals – linking up with C.R.A.F.T.
The blogging world is an amazing little community. I've always seen it but it is so awesome to feel it first hand. I joined the package pals exchange at C.R.A.F.T. and was matched up with Cheryl from That's What Che Said. The package pals needed to make or put together a crafty gift for their partner. Could I have been paired with a more perfect pal? Nope, not possible. Some of my bloggy friends I've known for some time and share comments and stories back and forth. Cheryl just "met" me. She did … [Read more...]
metallic chevron tile coasters tutorial
It is no secret that I love using inexpensive tiles as coasters. At 15 cents at the local hardware store, it makes for a perfect medium to getting creative. I had a special bloggy friend in mind when I made these so I went with a metallic chevron pattern. This was a complete experiment and I love they way they came out. I love it when experiments actually work out well. I used the Silhouette to cut out a chevron pattern on vinyl. I did a full 12 X 12 sheet so I could cut it down to cover 4 … [Read more...]
happy birthday to me and a personalized map gift
Happy Valentine's Day! I'm reluctantly celebrating by 31st birthday today. I don't think I mind the age part, must be that I still haven't gotten over being born on this holiday ;) We are keeping it low key just like I want it. Just a nice evening with the hubby, the mutts, sushi take out and a nice bottle of wine to celebrate.I haven't bought the Ray a Valentine's gift in years but I figured this year would be as good as any to change that. I bought them last month and was so excited about how … [Read more...]
valentine’s day – paper treat bags
Can I tell you the truth? I'm never been a huge fan of Valentine's Day. Actually, I pretty much have hated it my entire life. Why? Because it is my birthday. I was not big on my birthday being forgotten as a child due to the hype of the holiday. And now as an adult, I hate not being able to go out to dinner on my actual birthday because of the crazy crowds and crappy service. I guess I'm getting softer as I age because looking at all the adorable crafts on Pinterest inspired me to make little … [Read more...]
