this is halloween – bat wreath

October 7, 2011 9 Comments

Now that is is finally October, I can start decorating the outside of the house without the neighbors thinking I’m crazy. I didn’t have any front door decor in my stash of Halloween decorations from the old house so I decided to make a wreath.

This was a fun and easy wreath to make. A simple yarn base, some bats and a Trick or Treat mini banner along the inside.

I simply wrapped the black yarn tightly around the entire wreath form. After I was done I went back and wrapped a gray piece of yarn spaced out around the form to give it a bit of interest.

I cut out little triangles for the banner and wrote out Trick or Treat using a silver paint marker. Then I taped them on the backside to a piece of yarn. Once I had the three words assembled as a banner, I stretched the yarn across the wreath forms and attached them.

I attached an assortment of bats that I cut out from scrapbook paper along the wreath too.
And here it is! Simple but fun.

Happy Friday! Hope you all have a great weekend.
