another brick in the wall

The front of our house is very traditional which is not the look we are going for on the inside so I’ve been itching to change it.  I’ve been saying I wanted to paint the bricks in the front for months. The hubby thought I was nuts but I found the photographic evidence I needed to show him that painting the brick was exactly the way we needed to go. Painting brick is a very controversial topic but for our style it really fits.

This is what our place currently looks like complete with crazy landscaping which we have not touched. That is another project for another day.

And then I found this one and everything clicked. It is the actual color scheme we are going to go for – white, dark gray and a light turquoise. I haven’t finalized if the brick will be white or gray but this is the general idea:

Now if only the weather would cool off quickly so I can start painting! Since it will be beyond miserable through September I won’t tackle this until the fall but at least I know we’ve made the decision.  Are you on team painted brick or team natural brick?
