washer art – part 2

August 22, 2011 21 Comments

After I posted about my washer monogram art, my lovely assistant in Chicago decided she wanted one for her new apartment. We share the same last initial so it was fun to try another version.
As a reminder, here is the original one I made for our house in a small 5 x 7 frame. Simple and modern, which fits our style.
I went a little more traditional with the font selection for hers. I printed out the M to fit on a 11 X 14 flat canvas so she could easily put it in any frame that matched her decor. I used the same technique as my first one. This is a very easy craft and really takes no time at all.
Since this M was bigger and used a more intricate font, I was able to play around with different size washers to make up the shape.
Here is the final product all ready to be shipped off to Chicago!
The washers come in all different sizes and are about a dollar a bag at Home Depot. The canvas is also an inexpensive purchase with coupons at Michael’s, which makes this a simple and cheap housewarming gift.

So cool! I actually pinned the “P” one that has been floating around and included it in a post about diy art earlier this week. I like this one just as much! Great job! I’d love for you to stop by and enter to win a stencil.
