my next victims – succulent garden

October 24, 2011 13 Comments

I bought these little glass hanging planters/candle holders when we first bought the house and they’ve been sitting in storage since.

On my last trip to Home Depot I picked up this assortment of succulents determined to put the glass holders to use.

As I was walking towards the hubby in the store, plants in hand and all excited for what I was going to do with them, he says “You are going to kill more plants?” He has no faith in my ability to keep a plant alive. Thanks, babe.

I know I do not have a stellar record in plant care but I’m determined to keep these alive just to prove him wrong. 😉

I arranged them in their little glass containers with some soil and the potting stuff from orchids. Very technical plant term, potting stuff.

And now according to the hubby, I have three new victims for my plant cemetery. According to me, I have three new additions for our family room.

Once we finish tackling the ceiling and painting of that room, they’ll hang in one of the corners. For now they will look pretty in the dining room.

Those are so cool! You’ll have to let me know if you are able to keep them alive, I don’t have the best track record with plants ether 🙂

Very cute! I am also a plant killer (plus the cats chew on every remotely leafy green thing including the plastic variety) but I bought 3 succulents on the 4th of July and they are happy and healthy except the one that fell into the garbage disposal. Oops. Seriously, they must be hard to kill, because I hardly pay any attention to them at all except when I occasionally (like every 2 weeks) remember to water them sparingly. Good luck!!

I like the planters! Where did you get them? I am a horrendous plant-killer, but usually succulents won’t cave into my lack of watering & over sunning (is that a word?). Enjoy!

Those glass planters are very unique and pottery-barn-esque! Love it!
