mother’s fay brunch – brunch decorations

May 14, 2012 6 Comments

Hi! Remember me? I hope so. It has been a whirlwind month in a good sense but it left me with little free time. Now that I’m getting settled in at the new job, I’ll be posting on a more regular schedule….at least that is my intention ๐Ÿ˜‰ I will also be spending the next week catching up on a month’s full of posts I’ve missed. I have so much to read! For all the moms, aunts, godmothers, grandmothers of human and furry kids alike – Happy Mother’s Day! We hosted brunch at our place for our moms, siblings and a few cousins – 15 adults and 2 little ones. These are not all the photos since I was too busy eating and cooking to take photos of the full spread but I still wanted to show my brunch decorations.

Mimosa bar! Can’t host a family brunch without it. I need my champagne with all that family under one roof. We kept the OJ in the dispenser and let everyone serve themselves their own champagne. Everyone has their specific ratios for the perfect mimosa. Mine is all champagne with a splash of OJ for color ๐Ÿ˜‰

Home made gluten free biscuits with assorted marmalades. If you are gluten free, the gluten free Bisquick is pretty great. They were a hit and disappeared quickly.

Strawberries in a my little berry holder from my dear bloggy friend, Tiffany. This was one of my gifts from the exchange we did in March. I also used the wine charms she gave me, which were a big hit.

The table before everyone arrived. We used our custom bar as a buffet table and filled it up with all the goodies. I made a great egg quiche, turkey bacon, chicken and apple sausage, roasted fingerling potatoes with peppers and leeks, gluten free cinnamon rolls, the biscuits and a whole lot of fruit. I was hoping for leftovers but there was none!

Doesn’t matter what time of day it is, we always have cheese and crackers for snacks. I love cheese too much to discriminate what meal we should be serving.

All in all, it was a successful brunch. As much work as it takes to host for a large crowd, I love it. Simple brunch decorations makes it all more festive.ย My kidsย celebrated with me by being the perfect cuddle buddies while I napped in the afternoon recovering from the festivities?

What did you all do to celebrate for yourselves or the other ladies in your life? Share the details.

I’m glad to be back! If I still have readers, thank you for sticking around ๐Ÿ™‚

~Anna
