haven withdrawal

June 25, 2012 12 Comments

I don’t do well with crowds. I’m not a girl who has a ton of girl friends. And while talkative, I’m usually pretty shy. I was pretty nervous – okay more like seriously nervous – about attending Haven for all those reasons. I’m really glad that I went out of my comfort zone and was fortunate enough to have a chance to attend. I had an amazing time. A really, really amazing time.
I was lazy with my camera and it never made it out of my bag so all I have are iPhone photos. Bad blogger! I was just having too much fun, and with 260 other bloggers, there were plenty of other cameras out and everyone intends on sharing.
I feel so lucky to have met a bunch of great ladies who I knew through their blogs and those  that I was introduced to that I would have never chance to before. Look at this stack of business cards! I’m so behind on reading my favorites but now I’ve added another crazy amount to my reader. I’ll be spending all week sorting through these and trying to remember who is who.
I definitely won’t need help remembering who these famous folks are. They hosted great sessions that kept us laughing. Seriously, Mr. Goodwill Hunting was a total riot and looks even more dapper in person. And I got to meet Burger. I’m a dog loving fool so that was a highlight for me. John and Sherry were also very sweet and funny during their keynote.
I came home with lots of swag, DIY & blogging tips and tricks, and friendships. As cheesy as it might sound, it is so true. I bonded (outside of email) with some great girls and I can’t wait to see them again. I wish I would have gotten photos with all the amazing girls I met but I slacked. You know who you are though 🙂
This was the first time the planning committee organized and held the Haven Conference. Overall, it was great event and I will definitely plan on going to the next one if only to hang out with my some of my favorite ladies.

That pic of you and Cassie is awesome!! I’m so glad you went out of your comfort zone too. I’m with you … hangin’ with 260 squealing girls usually isn’t my idea of a good time … but it’s fun to be pleasantly surprised sometimes. Starting the count down to next year already!!

I’m so glad you came up to me that last night, but wish I would have gotten a chance to meet you earlier in the conference!! It’s so annoying to me that I never recognize anyone!! We’ll just have to make it a point of going back again next year and making sure we actually hang out!! Glad you had a great time!
