cheesy heart paper chain – a valentine’s day craft

January 30, 2013 11 Comments

I'm a Valentine's Day baby. Being born on the 14th gives me a certain aversion to all things pink and heart related. I can't help it. I don't really decorate the house for Valentine's Day because of that. My office is big on decorating for the holidays. We had some major decorations for Halloween and the winter holidays this year. I had to chip in and make a Valentine's Day craft, even if it is not my favorite because I can't give up an opportunity to make decorations for something. These … [Read more...]

this is halloween – diy skeleton wreath

October 17, 2012 2 Comments

Last year I made a cute bat wreath that I was fully intending on using this year until I came across some mini-skeletons on sale at Michaels. The wheels in my head started spinning and I decided to take the plunge on new skeleton wreath. I'm really digging skeletons this year. I may have bought quite a few this year. I bought a cheap grapevine wreath and spray painted it black with some satin spray paint I had on hand. I used some black yarn to attach the skeletons to the wreath once it … [Read more...]

Leave it to Halloween to get me back on the blog - it is my favorite holiday after all! I have a ton of decorations I made last year, but this year I wanted to take it up a notch. I decided to add some DIY wooden Halloween signs to the interior decor this year. I bought some cheap wooden signs forms from Michaels on sale earlier this year … [Read more...]

happy 4th of july -yarn wreath tutorial

July 4, 2012 4 Comments

Happy 4th of July!! What are you fun plans for the day? We are doing projects around the house then having a picnic with friends on a golf course by our place. They do a great fireworks display and it is a lot of fun. Since we are not hosting anything this year, I slacked on the holiday related crafts. I decided it would be good to share the yarn wreath tutorial I used for the wreath I made for a friend last year. f The supplies are simple enough - yarn, a wreath form and felt is all you … [Read more...]

valentine’s Day white fabric wreath

February 6, 2012 6 Comments

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! We've been pretty darn lazy these past two weekends. Not productive at all but to be honest, we needed the rest. I shared this wreath over at How to Nest for Less last month but since Valentine's Day (and my birthday!) is right around the corner, I wanted to share it here too. I made the white fabric wreath with the intention of making it simple enough that I could repurpose it for different holidays. Here is what it looks like now, all ready for Valentine's … [Read more...]
