rest in peace dear christmas tree…

You read that right, our Christmas tree has moved on to a better life in the mulch pile. Right before Christmas too. I may have shed a tear or two but it had to go. Poor thing was dead and my floor around the tree looked like this several times a day.

I wonder who had a hand, I mean paw, in the early demise of this tree. Good thing she is cute.

It is sad to see it go so soon but since we don’t have kids so I had to be realistic. The mess was too much with all the projects we have going on right now so we kept up a few decorations just to make it feel like the holidays. It still feels strange to have a pile of gifts just hanging out without a tree.

I can’t wait to show you the progress we are making. Here are some hints.

It is so exciting to see some major changes just as we approach the one year anniversary of closing on this house tomorrow. How did that happen so quickly?!
Do you feel like the first year in your current house went by really fast or really slow?

If Lemur needs a little fun time destroying another tree, she can come visit her second family and help them destroy mine (although I think it’s pretty much already gone…). I’m just telling myself at this point that it’s a Charlie Brown Christmas tree… barren branches and sad (alleged) cat-proof ornaments.
