I guess it really should be summer cleaning since it is in the 90s out. Whatever the case, the time to get organized has arrived.
I’ve admitted I might have a slight problem with Target and various craft stores. Due to my shopping habit the craft room closet was looking a little shabby with all my recent purchases. I have all this wonderful space to store things and had great intentions to keep everything perfectly organized true to my OCD tendencies. As is the case when there are too many things going on, my beautiful organized closet turned into a place with random boxes with everything thrown in without any order, piles of fabric, and other random crafting items. It wasn’t horrible but it made finding anything impossible since I had to literally go through each box looking for the right thing.
So I turned up the iPod, pulled everything out of the closet and onto the sofa and floor. All while the mutts and cat thought I was crazy.
I picked up these little labels at Michaels from the Martha Stewart line to categorize my stash. I like my handwriting so I wrote them out but you can also get creative on Word and print out on regular mailing labels.
I organized each box with like items – stickers, sewing supplies, house projects, blank cards, etc. Neatly folded what I could and sorted through paper scraps.
And now I have an organized place where I can easily find everything I’m currently hoarding. 😉
Now I’m even more inspired to get the closet finalized. I’ll be patching up and painting where we ripped off the door from the frame and will be creating a pretty curtain to put in the door’s place.
