We never had any intention to install our own backsplash. Actually, I should rephrase that….Ray never had any intention of letting me install the backsplash. I wanted to try it after watching too much HGTV and DIY network. Our walls are not exactly straight and since we decided on white subway tile for our backsplash, he convinced me to leave this to the experts.
Our initial choice for a tiler isn’t available until next year and I’m too impatient for that now that I want this done. Seriously, my craft room is done but I don’t have a completely finished kitchen. Bad Anna! Since our next choice for a tiler came in with a crazy expensive bid we decided we can figure this out ourselves…at least I hope so…
No better time than a long holiday weekend to try my hand at tiling! Wish us luck. And by us, I mean me for the actual tiling. Ray needs luck to make sure I don’t make a mess and freak out halfway through the project.

have fun- can’t wait to see it all done!
happy thanksgiving!
I can’t wait to see it! Don’t feel bad about it taking awhile to completely finish your kitchen :). We bought our Lidingo cabinets way back in April and are still trying to put on the finishing touches (trim, toe kicks). We still need to decide on counters and a backsplash too. These things always seem to take so much longer than originally planned!
I’m sure you’ll do great. I’ve heard that backsplash is easier than flooring. We did our flooring this past summer and it was way easier than I thought it would be. Can’t wait to see the results!
We’re doing a subway tile backsplash too. I’ll be so interested to see your afters and to hear how you did it!
