Even though I share the craft room with the hubbby since he has his messy desk in there, its really my room. I get to call all the shots which is fun. Very fun. The room is painted a lovely shade of turquoise called Antiguan Sky from Benjamin Moore. I’ve decorated with white, dark wood and dark gray furnishings. I wanted something light and fun for the curtain when I came across this perfect fabric at Joann’s. It was on sale when I bought it too!

All you really need to do it sew a hem around all the sides. Easy enough sewing job, right? It really is. Cutting the fabric down to size was definitely the tricky part since I wasn’t quite sure how to do it for such a long piece. The trick is to fold the fabric along the straight edge and then cut using a rotary cutter through the various folded layers.
I stitched on a little ribbon in a coordinating color to tie it all up when I want it open and I have a pretty cover up for my craft stash and litter boxes. Best part is, the cats can still slip in right underneath when I have it closed too so it isn’t bad when we have company over.
For closet doors in rooms like this are you on “Team Keep the Doors” or “Team Make a Curtain”?
This shot also includes a sneak peak of my craft room. I’ve done a lot of work on it in the past few weeks and I can’t wait to reveal it after I finish up this weekend.

It is always good to cover up the things/area you don’t want the others to see. The Cover-Up technique has been my favorite since childhood.

I love it! I think for a craft room/office space I am team curtain! It looks so flowy and comfortable and relaxed, just how a space should be 🙂

I love how you put the curtain rod on the inside so you can’t see it. I am still out on the door vs curtain debate. I think it depends on the space.

I think curtains can be a great contrast to the other wood in the room! The polka dots on that fabric are adorable, too. 🙂
