So if you noticed my posts the past few weeks have been pretty erratic in terms of content and there wasn't a whole lot of Christmas decorating going on besides my tree and centerpieces. You also might have picked up on a sense of urgency to finish a ton of pending projects. Not as festive as you would think I would be, right? I've had a very good reason. We've been scrambling to finish up some of the to list while working on a special surprise baby shower for a dear friend. We were jammed with … [Read more...]
a simple cover up – fabric covered canvas
Do you have blank walls you have no idea what to do with? Or maybe like us, you have something you want to cover up quickly and cheaply? This is such an easy project and I'm really happy with how it came out. Looks like a nice print or painting, right? It is a fabric covered canvas. All that was needed was a canvas in the desired size, enough fabric to cover it with a few inches to spare on each side and a staple gun. Tiffany has an amazing style and equally amazing blog. If you haven't been there, please go check … [Read more...]

holiday gift wrap ideas
If you made out with some good loot from the Black Friday sales you probably have gift wrap on your mind. At least I do. I always grab a bunch of gift wrap on clearance after the holidays so I used up what I had on hand this year. I'm considering stocking on up kraft paper and embellishments for all the additional wrapping that I need to get done. So simple but lovely all the same.ViaViaViaHave you started wrapping yet? Any favorite ways to pretty up your gifts? Thanks for following Directions … [Read more...]
fall decor on the cheap – fall centerpiece
I've never really spent much money decorating for fall. By the time I recover from Halloween it feels like Christmas is just around the corner and it seems pointless. As I started pulling out my decorations I realized with a few modifications, Christmas decor can quickly turn to fall decor and vice versa. I took out my trusty red table runner and three vases I had on hand from a bridal shower I threw years ago. Tip for cheap vases - find a local wholesale floral distributor. I bought 12 of these … [Read more...]
