Oh hi there. I won't even say I'm back for real or try to excuse my absence but my day-job has put definitely put a damper on my blogging the last few months. Why do I have to be a grown up? Yeah, so...just before my most recent hiatus, I was blogging about my bestie being pregnant. We hosted her what the duck is it gender reveal and baby shower this past weekend. All inspired by a cute invite we found on TinyPrints. It was an unconventional baby shower and gender reveal at a bar. Yes, a bar. … [Read more...]
corporate office decorating – typographic artwork
One of the things I mentioned in my previous post about my side job as a corporate office decorator, was the need for artwork for our walls. With a full blank slate to work with we needed something to add life to our space. Luckily, I run the in-house creative team. It is quite a fun job to direct three talented designers on a variety of projects. Fun stuff like office decorating, makes it even better. Two of my very talented designers worked with me on the posters and other design features … [Read more...]
a little nyc trip – photo recap
We just got back from a whirlwind trip to NYC. We honestly did not stop at all except for a 30 minute nap early in the evening on Saturday. If you follow me on Instagram you got a few little tidbits of the trip. Highlights? Seeing Neil Patrick Harris on Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Epic show. I was in love with NPH as a kid when he was on Doogie Howser, MD. He was my first real celebrity crush. So I relived that and waited at the side door to get his autograph on my playbill. And I … [Read more...]
the side job – corporate office decorating – the befores
Let me tell you something about myself, you may already know. I tend to take on more than I should and I have a really hard time telling people no. That will explain the craziness I embarked on last year at my day job. Our office was relatively new and completely white. Not an ounce of personality, nothing to make it ours. Considering our culture, the office didn't fit. Our execs were considering paying some over-priced and out of touch designers to give the space some life (I'm not saying all … [Read more...]
munchkin outdoor playroom – stenciled nautical art
This post is sponsored by Plaid Crafts. I received materials for this project and compensation for my time, but all opinions are most definitely my own! If you've been around here for even a bit, you know I love stencils. Even with my ability to make my own stencils from freezer paper or vinyl, good quality, reusable stencils are always great to have on hand. I was really excited to try out the new Stencil1 line because their edgy, modern designs are fun and different. To … [Read more...]
project nursery – harry potter light switch
While I have 800 projects in the works right now, it really seems like I'm trending with the Harry Potter themed items for you. This time, a Harry Potter light switch. Yeah, I'm out of control for the upcoming birth of my new niece or nephew, and my geek tendencies are showing. I've seen many variations of this project on Pinterest, so I knew it would be an easy but cute addition to the nursery. I used my trusty Silhouette to set up the text for the project. Applying vinyl using transfer … [Read more...]
