Streamer Birthday Decorations - Directions Not Included

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I'm that sucker of a friend who always ends up doing the decor for parties, wedding, showers and the like. My girlfriend Z, started pinning all sorts of things for her daughter's 5th birthday, which I decided  to tackle myself after a few sweet texts. I shared the colorful fabric wreath, which served as the base for this party decor. This was last-minute crafting at its best so there are no step-by-step tutorials here. I created a streamer backdrop for the … [Read more...]

munchkin outdoor playroom – stenciled nautical art

March 28, 2014 Leave a Comment

This post is sponsored by Plaid Crafts. I received materials for this project and compensation for my time, but all opinions are most definitely my own!  If you've been around here for even a bit, you know I love stencils. Even with my ability to make my own stencils from freezer paper or vinyl, good quality, reusable stencils are always great to have on hand. I was really excited to try out the new Stencil1 line because their edgy, modern designs are fun and different. To … [Read more...]

project nursery – harry potter light switch

March 24, 2014 1 Comment

While I have 800 projects in the works right now, it really seems like I'm trending with the Harry Potter themed items for you. This time, a Harry Potter light switch. Yeah, I'm out of control for the upcoming birth of my new niece or nephew, and my geek tendencies are showing.  I've seen many variations of this project on Pinterest, so I knew it would be an easy but cute addition to the nursery. I used my trusty Silhouette to set up the text for the project. Applying vinyl using transfer … [Read more...]

This precious little boy is my friend's son, Aaron. Thankfully, this photo was taken what feels like forever ago. He is now cancer-free with clean scans for the past 15 months! They went through very scary times, but through the support of their family, friends, and his amazing spirit, they have pulled through the scary world of childhood cancer. You might recognize his story and shirt from here and here. … [Read more...]

ahoy there mateys – oirate themed party cupcake toppers

January 7, 2013 2 Comments

Can you imagine trying to throw a pirate themed party for a 5-year-old the week between Christmas and New Years? We have friends who have a little one born on Christmas Day and that is exactly what they did. Given the holiday insanity, mom was running behind on decorations so I offered to make some quick things to pull the theme together. Unfortunately, the day of the party the wind was so strong we couldn't actually display anything without it all ending up flying into the ocean. I apologize … [Read more...]

pom pom fun – diy angre birds game

July 27, 2012 1 Comment

Happy, happy Friday!! I'm so glad it is here. I've had a busy week and it is only going to get crazier since I'm headed out to Denver all of next week for work. Want to know the good thing? I'm not really stressed. Yes, I'm busy as can be and stressed about doing a great job BUT I love what I'm doing and it doesn't stress me in a bad way. That's a good thing, right? On Monday, I shared part of the gift I made for my girlfriend's little one who is fighting a rare form of cancer. He's a huge … [Read more...]
