I mentioned last week that everyone seems to be having kids around me lately. To go with the baby blankets I have been making, I've also been working on using my freezer paper tutorial to personalize gifts for siblings. It is always hard to show up with a gift for the new little one and not bring something for the older sibling(s). These seem to be big hit with all the moms and are so easy to make. This set is for two of my favorite boys, Drew and Parker. Drew is 2 and Parker will be 3 months … [Read more...]
welcome baby – pink and gray baby shower decorations
Happy Monday folks! Today is my first day at my new job and I'm actually in route to Denver until Friday. I have a week of meetings which should keep me on my toes for my first week on the job. We had a blast at the wedding this weekend and I have few photos but as expected I had too much fun dancing and drinking with all of our friends. If you follow me on Facebook or on Instagram you may have seen a few sneak peaks. On Sunday, I finalized the pink and gray baby shower decorations I have … [Read more...]
Baby blankets – why is baby fabric so cute?
It seems like everyone around me is either having babies or adopting them. It is amazing to me how many little ones are popping up around these parts. freezer paper stencil tutorial – baby gift
I'm going to start this post off with an apology for my photos. I've been playing with freezer paper stencils since this weekend as my first project for my Pinterest Resolutions. I was so excited how they came out, I just wrapped them up and realized after I had gifted them that there were no photos! I made these late last night...as in I'm writing this at 12:15 am. So these two special little … [Read more...]
a very special baby shower – diy baby shower decorations
So if you noticed my posts the past few weeks have been pretty erratic in terms of content and there wasn't a whole lot of Christmas decorating going on besides my tree and centerpieces. You also might have picked up on a sense of urgency to finish a ton of pending projects. Not as festive as you would think I would be, right? I've had a very good reason. We've been scrambling to finish up some of the to list while working on a special surprise baby shower for a dear friend. We were jammed with … [Read more...]
feeling domesticated
When she was alive my maternal grandmother used to tell me I wasn't marriage material. I didn't know how to cook and I didn't sew. She was sure no man wanted me. I rebelled against that for many years because...well, I'm the workaholic business-type not the sewing and cooking type. The thing is in reality I am both. I have the big corporate job for a global company and I'm working on my MBA but I am a pretty damn good cook and just learned how to sew. Maybe I am more domesticated than I thought … [Read more...]
