Leave it to Halloween to get me back on the blog - it is my favorite holiday after all! I have a ton of decorations I made last year, but this year I wanted to take it up a notch. The house has been decorated since September 29th. The hubby is sure they neighbors think we are insane but I want to get the most out of my decorations. I decided to add some DIY wooden Halloween signs to the interior decor this year. I bought some cheap wooden signs forms from Michaels on sale earlier this year … [Read more...]
the perfect bridal shower favor – diy mason jar soy candles
Bridal shower favors (and baby shower favors) range from really cute to really tacky, from useful to useless. They definitely are not a necessity, but when the showers are small enough, they are nice-to-haves. That is only if they are along the lines of the really cute and useful type of favors. Or if they are edible ;) I think mason jar soy candles have topped my list for favors from now on. I've seen tons of instructions out there but I used my dear bloggy friend, Tiffany from Living … [Read more...]
pom pom fun – diy angre birds game
Happy, happy Friday!! I'm so glad it is here. I've had a busy week and it is only going to get crazier since I'm headed out to Denver all of next week for work. Want to know the good thing? On Monday, I shared part of the gift I made for my girlfriend's little one who is fighting a rare form of cancer. He's a huge … [Read more...]
may the force be with you – star wards stencil shirt
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I will admit, I wish it was one day longer. My craft today uses the same freezer paper technique I've used a few times already but today's gift had a special purpose. A friend of mine has a little 5-year old who is fighting cancer. He was diagnosed in February with a stage 4 rare form of bone cancer. He is fighting hard and doing well after these first 5 months of treatments but he has a long road ahead of him. As part of a care package that I'm sending … [Read more...]
pinterest semi-fail – succulent wreath or centerpiece tutorial
This post would be more appropriately titled "Why I am not allowed to play with plants". Seriously. I got all excited with the succulents available at Home Depot the other day and decided I wanted to try my hand at the succulent wreaths I've been seeing on Pinterest. You see where this is going, right? Me + succulents = certain death.I found a great tutorial for making a succulent wreath and organized all my supplies since it seemed easy enough. A wire wreath form, moss and succulents. I went … [Read more...]
happy 4th of july -yarn wreath tutorial
Happy 4th of July!! What are you fun plans for the day? We are doing projects around the house then having a picnic with friends on a golf course by our place. They do a great fireworks display and it is a lot of fun. Since we are not hosting anything this year, I slacked on the holiday related crafts. I decided it would be good to share the yarn wreath tutorial I used for the wreath I made for a friend last year. f The supplies are simple enough - yarn, a wreath form and felt is all you … [Read more...]
