keeping clean with pets – how to have a clean home with smelly animals

August 8, 2012 3 Comments

So as many of you know, we are that crazy family with 5 animals. Most "normal" people think we are insane and think our house must have an unbelievable stinky animal smell to it. In reality, if they were not barking (or meowing) like the unruly creatures that they are, most days, you couldn't tell we had pets. I say most days because animal hair if not vacuumed every day, multiplies in my house. And there are those days that I have no energy to vacuum so the hair stays BUT the smell is not … [Read more...]

pom pom fun – diy angre birds game

July 27, 2012 1 Comment

Happy, happy Friday!! I'm so glad it is here. I've had a busy week and it is only going to get crazier since I'm headed out to Denver all of next week for work. Want to know the good thing? I'm not really stressed. Yes, I'm busy as can be and stressed about doing a great job BUT I love what I'm doing and it doesn't stress me in a bad way. That's a good thing, right? On Monday, I shared part of the gift I made for my girlfriend's little one who is fighting a rare form of cancer. He's a huge … [Read more...]

may the force be with you – star wards stencil shirt

July 23, 2012 6 Comments

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I will admit, I wish it was one day longer. My craft today uses the same freezer paper technique I've used a few times already but today's gift had a special purpose. A friend of mine has a little 5-year old who is fighting cancer. He was diagnosed in February with a stage 4 rare form of bone cancer. He is fighting hard and doing well after these first 5 months of treatments but he has a long road ahead of him. As part of a care package that I'm sending … [Read more...]

kitchen towel aprons – simple sewing tutorial

March 2, 2012 27 Comments

I'm so glad everyone enjoyed the gift exchange posts this week. This is one of the gifts I gave Cheryl. I found this awesome tutorial on making kitchen towel aprons at CraftWhatever. Seriously adorable and super easy. I pinned it and kept my eyes open for cute kitchen towels every time I was at Target. The thing is, I'm not great with the sewing machine. I'm not horrible but I'm definitely not an expert so I wanted to simplify the tutorial even more. Less steps = less chances I can mess it up. … [Read more...]

package pals – linking up with C.R.A.F.T.

February 29, 2012 8 Comments

The blogging world is an amazing little community. I've always seen it but it is so awesome to feel it first hand. I joined the package pals exchange at C.R.A.F.T. and was matched up with Cheryl from That's What Che Said. The package pals needed to make or put together a crafty gift for their partner. Could I have been paired with a more perfect pal? Nope, not possible. Some of my bloggy friends I've known for some time and share comments and stories back and forth. Cheryl just "met" me. She did … [Read more...]

metallic chevron tile coasters tutorial

February 28, 2012 24 Comments

It is no secret that I love using inexpensive tiles as coasters. At 15 cents at the local hardware store, it makes for a perfect medium to getting creative. I had a special bloggy friend in mind when I made these so I went with a metallic chevron pattern. This was a complete experiment and I love they way they came out. I love it when experiments actually work out well. I used the Silhouette to cut out a chevron pattern on vinyl. I did a full 12 X 12 sheet so I could cut it down to cover 4 … [Read more...]
