Can I tell you the truth? I'm never been a huge fan of Valentine's Day. Actually, I pretty much have hated it my entire life. Why? Because it is my birthday. I was not big on my birthday being forgotten as a child due to the hype of the holiday. And now as an adult, I hate not being able to go out to dinner on my actual birthday because of the crazy crowds and crappy service. I guess I'm getting softer as I age because looking at all the adorable crafts on Pinterest inspired me to make little … [Read more...]
freezer paper stencil tutorial – baby gift
I'm going to start this post off with an apology for my photos. I've been playing with freezer paper stencils since this weekend as my first project for my Pinterest Resolutions. I actually made quite a few this past weekend but forgot to finish taking pictures of them. I was so excited how they came out, I just wrapped them up and realized after I had gifted them that there were no photos! I made these late last night...as in I'm writing this at 12:15 am. So these two special little … [Read more...]
fabric wreath tutorial
Some of my favorite decor pieces from the baby shower I just hosted were the fabric wreaths I made. I love how simple and elegant they came out and I also love the fact that I should be able to repurpose these for other events and holidays coming up. I made one large one for the front door using a 10 inch foam wreath form and two smaller ones for my back door using the 6 inch wreath forms. If you like these, I hope this fabric wreath tutorial will be helpful if you try and make one … [Read more...]
a simple cover up – fabric covered canvas
Do you have blank walls you have no idea what to do with? Or maybe like us, you have something you want to cover up quickly and cheaply? This is such an easy project and I'm really happy with how it came out. Looks like a nice print or painting, right? It is a fabric covered canvas. All that was needed was a canvas in the desired size, enough fabric to cover it with a few inches to spare on each side and a staple gun. This is the view of our family room towards the main part of the house. … [Read more...]
subway tile backsplash – installation is not so bad!
I'm so excited about this project. I laid tile and so far so good!We started our kitchen renovation last December when we gutted the kitchen and started slowly rebuilding it. Since April we have had an almost complete kitchen. It has been fully functional but really needed the finishing touches. I was getting quite tired of looking at the random patched up walls. The hubby was so hesitant to let me tackle this but I'm so glad we decided to do it ourselves. These are the first three tiles I have … [Read more...]
visiting living savvy – memo board
Good morning! How is everyone doing today? I'm hurting from a very productive day yesterday. Baseboards were painted, tile was installed (almost done!) and a few crafts were completed too. Overall is it was a great day. I may need a few extra cups of coffee to get going today but I'll get there...I hope ;)I'm excited to be over at Living Savvy today showing one of the crafts I just recently created. Tiffany has an amazing style and equally amazing blog. If you haven't been there, please go check … [Read more...]
