from fall to christmas – Inexpensive centerpiece change
We have a lot of other projects going on so I'm trying to keep the decorations simple and easy to handle this Christmas. Having a crazy kitten is also motivation to keep the decor minimal. I knew I just wanted to repurpose the fall centerpieces I put together just a few weeks ago.I picked up two bags of mixed glitter embellishments on Black Friday and just replaced the pearly pumpkins. ikea hack bar – a diy bar from ikea cabinets – the final reveal
We have progress folks! I gave a glimpse of what was going on in our bar last week. We used IKEA kitchen cabinets, the hanging wall kind, to create a custom floating bar. Our very own IKEA hack bar. I don't know about you but every time I look at the houses of bloggers if a floor plan is not available I'm always trying to figure out how the rooms are laid out. It must be the genes I get from my architect father, but I always want to know which rooms are connected to which. It really helps gauge the style of the house and flow of the design. tiling fun – subway tile backsplash time
We never had any intention to install our own backsplash. Actually, I should rephrase that....Ray never had any intention of letting me install the backsplash. I wanted to try it after watching too much HGTV and DIY network. Our walls are not exactly straight and since we decided on white subway tile for our backsplash, he convinced me to leave this to the experts. almost time for a drink – ikea hack bar
After my mini-meltdown at IKEA last Thursday night, I was dead set on making sure this project got off the ground this weekend. I did a solo trip to IKEA on a Sunday afternoon. I will never recommend that to anyone. Our IKEA is a good 30 - 45 minutes away, it was packed, the boxes were heavy and those carts are impossible to maneuver.
