So I have a Monday confession. I want to talk about that list. You know, the one of all the projects you say you are going to do and never get to... Not the big ones you can't tackle because of real time constraints or money. The little annoying ones. The ones you could do if you just stopped playing on Pinterest, Facebook or your Google Reader. Or if you stopped making up excuses for why it isn't the right moment. Or if the hubby stopped watching golf (insert - football, baseball, soccer, etc). … [Read more...]
paint sprayer happiness!
I am so seriously excited this morning! I don't enter many giveaways but I'm so glad I entered the last one on My Repurposed Life. Thanks to My Repurposed Life and Wagner, I am the proud new owner of this baby! My very own Power Plus Paint Sprayer! Want a hint at what we will be tackling with this? All the brick in our life needs a shiny coat of paint and I am so thankful we won't be doing it with a brush. I'll be sharing my before and after post with many pictures … [Read more...]
bar plans
We have this strange space that flows from our dining room to our family room that we call our bar. It has already gone through a pretty big renovation. On the right you see the photo a few weeks after closing. We tore down the paneling and discovered a 1950/60s retro wallpaper mural. This is a crazy house and we have the … [Read more...]
bath crashers – please come crash my baths!
Have you ever seen the show Bath Crashers on the DIY Network? Matt Muenster picks up unsuspecting customers at big home improvement stores then renovates their whole bathroom. He creates dream worthy spaces from otherwise ugly and outdated bathrooms. I'm insanely jealous of all those who get his bathrooms. I fantasize that this will happen to me. Seriously. I walk aimlessly around Home Depot in hope that one day I'll see him and can sweet talk him into coming to our house. Most of the people on … [Read more...]
good day sunshine – yellow pillowcases
We are slowly making our way through the second phase of our renovation. Since I know it will take forever, I'm taking advantage and crossing little decorating projects off of the list to make it feel like we are accomplishing something. Our family room gets amazing natural light thanks to full glass pane french doors and huge windows facing the West. It's our favorite room in the house even though it still currently looks pretty ragged. There is a huge list of major renovation projects to be … [Read more...]
another brick in the wall
The front of our house is very traditional which is not the look we are going for on the inside so I've been itching to change it. I've been saying I wanted to paint the bricks in the front for months. The hubby thought I was nuts but I found the photographic evidence I needed to show him that painting the brick was exactly the way we needed to go. Painting brick is a very controversial topic but for our style it really fits. This is what our place currently looks like complete with crazy … [Read more...]
